The lecture\, which will be presented by Marilyn F. Friedman\, will explore the ways in which the concepts seen at the Exposition were presented to the American public\, including shows at museums\, department stores and designers’ organizations. She will also discuss how designers such as Donald Deskey\, Eugene Schoen\, Kem Weber\, Eleanor Le Maire and Joseph Urban adopted and adapted the design that today we call Art Deco. \nThis event will be available in person at The General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen of the City of New York and via Zoom. When registering\, please be sure to choose whether you will be attending in person or watching via the live stream on Zoom. \nAbout the Speaker:  \nMarilyn Friedman is a design historian who has lectured widely on twentieth century interiors and decorative arts.
