DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the Orpheum Theatre’s 97th anniversary with a special Silent Sunday screening of Harold Lloyd’s beloved 1923 classic SAFETY LAST! one of the most famous moments in cinema history as Lloyd hangs perilously from a skyscraper clock high above the city. This high-spirited comedy follows a small-town dreamer determined to succeed in the big city\, leading to an unforgettable\, laugh-filled finale.\nThis anniversary presentation features live accompaniment on the Orpheum’s historic WURLITZER THEATRE ORGAN performed by world-renowned organist RON RHODE.\n\nBring the whole family!  Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.\n\nThe event is a fundraiser proudly sponsored by the Valley of the Sun Chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society and the Friends of the Orpheum Theatre.\n\n\nDETAILS: \nThis is a fun social gathering for all members and non-members to enjoy this silent film classic! All guests are responsible for purchasing their own ticket – there are no assigned seats. DESCRIPTION:Join the Phoenix Art Deco Society for an Art Deco walking tour of Downtown Phoenix! \nDiscover the architectural style that swooned the world in the 1920’s and smuggled itself into the young Phoenix cityscape amongst Italian Renaissance Revival\, Spanish Colonial\, Classic Revival and other fascinating architectural styles. \nMarvel at the historic architecture of the 20s and 30s hidden in plain sight on this walking tour.\nWe encourage you to dress the part as we embark on our 1.5-hour journey (walking shoes are recommended).  \nTour Highlights​: \n\nLearn the basics of Art Deco and its influence\nEnjoy the exquisite architecture of the Luhr’s Tower\, Professional Building\, the Maricopa County Courthouse\, and other architectural gems in the downtown area.\nWe will try our best to step into a couple of open public lobbies from the 1920s and 1930s\nLearn more about the culture of the 1920s and 1930s in Phoenix and around the world!  ​\nWe will end our tour at the Professional Building (now the Hilton Garden Inn) where you are welcome to stay for a cocktail in the lobby\n\nThis tour usually fills up FAST! In that case\, we may open up a second tour date the following week so you don’t miss out! \n \n  \nDATE: Sunday\, January 18th\, 2026 \nTIME: 3:00pm – tour will start promptly. \nMEETING LOCATION: In front of the San Carlos Hotel (202 N Central Ave\, Phoenix\, AZ 85004) – find your tour guide dressed in 1920s garb! \n  \nTICKETS: \n$15 for members \nClick below to purchase your ticket!
