Highrises: Gallery Grand Opening

Members and friends of the Art Deco Society are welcome to the grand opening of Highrises: The Luhrs Legacy & Southwestern Art Deco, a unique gallery and exhibit featuring the works of digital artist Chris Hytha and supplemental history exhibits on the Luhrs family legacy and the history of Art Deco.

This exclusive grand opening party open house will be one to remember! Support the Art Deco Society by joining us for a drink, participating in our silent auction, and hearing from the artist in a unique presentation about the project. Lovers of art, architecture, and history are sure to love this special viewing located inside the Luhrs Tower!

 

Schedule of Events 

7:00pm – Reception open

7:30pm – Artist presentation

8:00pm –Gallery viewing

9:00pm – Silent auction closes

9:30pm – Doors close

Time: 7pm-9:30pm

Location: Luhrs Tower, 2nd floor: 45 W Jefferson St, Phoenix, AZ 85003.

Parking: Guests are responsible for their own parking. Parking available on the street or bhund the Luhrs Tower in the Luhrs Parking Garage.

 

Your ticket includes first access to the pop-up exhibit, 2 drink tickets (wine bar), the artist presentation, silent auction, and mingling with our community of Art Deco enthusiasts. Celebrate this unique moment with us inside the Luhrs Tower! 

Check in with our staff at the Luhrs Tower to gain entry. Meet our volunteers at the Luhrs Tower lobby, who will guide you to the exhibit space.

What is Highrises?

Discover the details of towering Jazz Age gems as you’ve never seen them before with digital artist Chris Hytha and skyscraper historian Mark Houser. The Luhrs Tower takes center stage in this unique art and history pop-up exhibit hosted by the Phoenix Art Deco Society.

For the entire month of May, come see us inside the Art Deco Luhr’s Tower to view Chris Hytha’s traveling exhibit showcasing curated pieces of his collection that highlight southwestern influence on Art Deco design paired with a history exhibit on the Luhr’s family and the history of Phoenix in the 1920s and 1930s.
