The Program

The Phoenix Art Deco Society is proud to announce a unique live theatre showing of the classic 1938 radio broadcast, “War of the Worlds,” on October 23rd. The event will transport audiences back in time, creating an immersive experience reminiscent of the original Mercury Radio Theatre broadcast in 1938 in the captivating Heritage Square Pavillion.

Experience the original broadcast as if you were in the recording studio yourself with an added twist: live big band accompaniment, open dance floor, drink service with historic cocktails and mocktails, an intimate outdoor vintage setting, and more!

There hasn’t been an event quite like this.

The Guest Experience – Ticket Options

Guests are encouraged to dress to impress, get in on the fun of the evening, and celebrate the broadcast anniversary with us through an evening of live entertainment. As you enter the Pavillion, you will be treated with two drink tickets for the bar with historic cocktails, mocktails, beer, and wine. Admire the vintage cars situated at the entrance and take a photo or two. Our hosts will escort you to your seats based on your reservation:

 

The luxury experience for those wanting to step back in time and into a vintage living room vignette – the bests seats in the house. Reserve a VIP section for up to 6 people, and in addition to two drink tickets per guest, your section is welcomed with a bottle of sparkling wine, and each guest will receive their own charcuterie box.Please inform us at checkout or via email how many guests will be attending so we can plan your seating arrangement and charcuterie boxes accordingly.

 

The ultimate date-night experience, 1938 style. This ticket reserves your own vintage lounge seating for two people with a great view of the show. Included in this package price are two drink tickets and a charcuterie box for each guest.

 

Our general seating is anything but general! Each ticket includes your seat reservation and 2 drink tickets for vintage cocktails and mocktails.

 

Enjoy the show from one of our cocktail high tops with bar stools. 2 drink tickets are included per guest. Whether you are a dancer or a casual viewer, this is for you!

 

Add-On Charcuterie Box $18

Interested in a bite to eat? Consider adding on our individual charcuterie boxes packed with a selection of cheeses, meats, and accouterments for snacking during the show, delivered to your table before the start of the program. (Vegetarian option available – just let us know at check out!)

 

Please note:

• If you purchase tickets for two and select a table that accommodates four or more, you are NOT guaranteed that other guests WILL NOT join you. 
• This performance will be outdoors at Heritage Square’s Lath Pavillion. In the event of rain, the event will be canceled, and refunds will be issued.
• Drink tickets are included with each admission ticket. Our bar includes alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Absolutely no outside food or drink allowed. 
• Our seat map changes for some productions, sometimes resulting in additional seats being added. Please understand that the configuration is subject to minor changes.
