Are you a member of the Society? Do you love Art Deco? Join members of the Art Deco Society for an evening of cocktails and connection at the former Professional Building (now, the Downtown Phoenix Hilton Garden Inn) lobby bar, Monroe’s! 

This is a no-host gathering for members and those interested in Art Deco, where we will gather and enjoy the ambiance of one of Phoenix’s most extravagant Art Deco lobbies. No reservation required, just show up! Vintage or vintage attire is encouraged, but not required. All guests are responsible for their own bar tabs. We look forward to seeing you there. 

About the Professional Building:

The Professional Building was completed in 1932 by the architectural firm of Morgan, Walls, & Clements, originally constructed as the “National Valley Bank” building. The bank resided on the ground floor, and other floors of the high-rise were reserved for medical offices. It’s impossible not to notice the original brass elevators and marble floors that invite you to the large open-air lobby. This interior was vacant for two decades until it was renovated and restored to its former glory, featuring stunning Art Deco pillars and zig-zag motifs replicated in the original color scheme. 

Since 2013, Hilton Garden Inn takes over the entire building with a modest bar, Monroe’s, on the ground floor with lounge and cocktail seating. Monroe’s offers a full-service bar menu and a place for guests to relax and unwind. In addition to some tasty beverages, we also serve a selection of upscale bar-food ranging from burgers and wings to tacos and salad.
