Guests discovered the details of towering Jazz Age gems as never seen before with digital artist Chris Hytha and skyscraper historian Mark Houser.
For the entire month of May 2025, the Phoenix Art Deco Society hosted a pop-up art and history exhibit featuring curated pieces from the Highrises collection that highlighted southwestern influence on Art Deco design through stunning images of the county’s most beautiful skyscrapers. Thee Art Deco Society also wrote and curated an exhibit on the Luhrs family and the history of Phoenix in the 1920s and 1930s along with examples of arts and culture in the Jazz Age. This experience was open to the public and held inside the historic Luhrs Tower.
Artist Chris Hytha made his presentation and answered questions at the opening night event. Historian Mark Houser gave a presentation on the Luhrs family and antique skyscrapers at a lecture event at the end of the exhibit run.
