Phoenix, AZ – Something strange is coming this October…A Martian invasion is taking over the world—and it starts right here in Arizona.
The Phoenix Art Deco Society is proud to announce a unique live show of the classic 1938 radio broadcast “War of the Worlds,” set to take place on October 23rd in the captivating Heritage Square Pavilion.
Guests will follow the story of a Martian invasion taking over Phoenix in a realistic dramatization that incited panic in the original 1938 listening audiences as if they were in the recording studio themselves. This single engagement show will feature an added twist: live big band accompaniment, open dance floor, drink service with historic cocktails and mocktails, vintage cars, and an intimate outdoor vintage setting to tie it all together. There hasn’t been an event quite like this.
Whether you are a fan of classic radio, theatre, science fiction, Art Deco and the jazz age, or just looking for a good night out, this is for you. Tickets are expected to sell quickly, and guests are encouraged to secure their spot for this one-of-a-kind event. VIP tickets are available to those who want an even more luxurious experience that includes food, sparkling wine, and table service in lounge vignettes adorned with vintage couches and chairs. Become a member of the Phoenix Art Deco Society to show your support and receive $10 off general reserved table seating or $20 off VIP seating.
